Chelsea had a difficult start to the season, but things are looking up. In the League Cup, they fought back from a goal down to defeat AFC Wimbledon 2-1.
This came on the heels of a 3-0 league victory over Luton Town. The Blues will try to capitalise on their recent success, having scored in all four of their games.
Nottingham Forest came from behind to force draws in both of their games with Chelsea last season. They will attempt to improve this time. They have one win in four games this season entering this game.
However, just before this game, Forest lost 1-0 to Burnley in the League Cup. It was their second straight defeat and third in four games. They only escaped defeat when they defeated Sheffield United 2-1. The loss to Burnley, on the other hand, was the first time they had failed to score in four games.
Forest will place their hopes in in-form forward Taiwo Awoniyi. He came in as a substitute against Burnley and is set to start here. He scored twice against Chelsea last season and will be looking for his fourth league goal this season in this game.
