These pregnancy hormones play a crucial role in the early stages of fetal development but can also contribute to the heightened sense of urgency to urinate.

Additionally, the body’s blood supply undergoes a significant increase during pregnancy, supporting the growing needs of the developing fetus.

About 20–25% of this increased blood volume passes through the kidneys, leading to more urine production. The kidneys work harder to filter this excess fluid, contributing to the need for more frequent trips to the restroom.

These exercises target and strengthen the muscles of the pelvis and urethra, providing essential support to the bladder. Kegel exercises are safe to perform during pregnancy and even after childbirth.
