Cameroon coach Rigobert Song has denied the suggestion that he has fallen out with Andre Onana after he was dropped for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations win over Gambia last week.

Onana watched on from the bench as his nation sealed qualification for the knockout rounds of the competition with a dramatic 3-2 victory on Tuesday.

The United goalkeeper missed the opening match against Guinea after a nightmare 16-hour journey to the tournament and endured another nightmare when he shipped three goals in the second group game against Senegal without making a single save in the defeat.

His cousin, Fabrice Ondoa, started in goal against both Guinea and Gambia and Song has a big decision to make when they face Nigeria in the first knockout round tonight.

“I have no problem with my goalkeepers. They are all competitive and ready to respond when they need to play. There is no controversy. They get along very well,” Song told a press conference on Friday. “We have already conceded six goals and tomorrow we will find the formula to not concede.”

“We will try to put Nigeria in difficulty and fight to continue in the competition. I know what needs to be done so that we do everything possible tomorrow to obtain a positive result.”

Onana made his debut for Cameroon in 2016 and featured at AFCON 2021. The ‘keeper made a crucial save on penalties to ensure his side secured a third-place finish at the tournament.
