With FC Barcelona leading Cadiz CF by two (2) goals, the game was ‘paused’ after the Cádiz fans began to whistle to ask for urgent help because of a fan ‘needing’ immediate medical attention in the stands.
Though the Cádiz CF fans were the ones who began to raise awareness of the situation, the twenty-nine (29) years old Argentine goalkeeper, Jeremias Ledesma, was among the first on the pitch to spot the issue and stop the game.
Jeremias Ledesma, who couldn’t do much against a firing FC Barcelona squad to save his team from conceding two (2) goals before the incident occurred, helped the situation by racing with a defibrillator kit towards the stand.
His prompt and heroic response in delivering the defibrillator kit to the medical personnel attending to the victim contributed to saving the day, as the fan, who had collapsed during the game, gained consciousness and was then stretched out by the medical team for further treatments.
Even though Cadiz CF would later lose the game by a 4:0 margin, Jeremías Ledesma’s proactivity became the taking point of the game, as one Kelly, reacting, said, “he didn’t run like this to save a goal. He ran like this to save a life. Huge respect.”
In the same vein, Sha3waza said, “the undisputed man of the Barcelona-Cadiz match.”
Others, as could be seen below, had nothing but respect for the twenty-nine (29) years old Argentine goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma, with some tagging him a hero and savior as they reiterated his act.
