DAILY POST reported on Saturday that an increased appropriation Bill was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.

The parliament increased the budget submitted by President Bola Tinubu by the sum of N1.2 trillion.

The Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi, told reporters at the end of the special session on Saturday that the N1.2 trillion increase was because of inflation, as well as the promise by Government Owned Enterprises, GOEs, to increase their revenue.

In the approved budget, DAILY POST reports that the Ministry of Defence got the highest allocation of N1.3tn.

The Office of the National Security Adviser – N199.763bn.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs – N140.456bn.
