He has said that President William Ruto’s administration is not interested in crushing dissent and is ready to take attacks from other sides.

He has cited the recent incident where South African politician Julius Malema attacked Ruto within Kenya, recalling that there were no attempts to arrest him.

“We had a visitor from South Africa not too long ago somewhere in Lukenya. Can you imagine he had a platform to criticise President William Ruto. He came in Visa-free, made his remarks and left without being arrested,” he said in Nairobi as quoted by The Star.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering an environment where positive and objective criticism is accepted and encouraged.

Acknowledging the inevitability of challenges and legal disputes, Mudavadi championed the idea that such adversities contribute to the betterment of the nation.

“That is the Kenya we have built together,” he asserted, emphasizing the collective effort required for progress.

Transitioning from discussions on democracy, Mudavadi noted the evolving focus of the diaspora community.

“They are no longer telling you too much about democracy but how to improve the economy, create jobs, and opportunities,” he observed, indicating a shift toward economic development.

Underscoring the government’s commitment to transparent dialogue, Mudavadi urged the diaspora community to leverage their networks for socio-economic development across various counties.

He envisioned their contributions as integral to Kenya’s broader transformation agenda, particularly in uplifting rural livelihoods.
