Michy Batshuayi scored the only goal between all four Group F teams in their opening round of World Cup fixtures, but Belgium were far from their free-flowing best.

Viewers will be hoping the action hots up this weekend, as the Red Devils aim to put one foot in the last 16.

Belgium, ranked second in the world, were the pre-tournament Group F favorites and they can lock up one of the two available berths in the Round of 16 by defeating Morocco at Al Thumama Stadium.

But the Atlas Lions will believe they can claim a major scalp based on how poor Belgium looked despite winning their opener against Canada. Even a draw here would probably suit Morocco just fine heading into their final group game against the Canadians.

Romelu Lukaku’s fitness is of major concern to Belgium. The Inter Milan striker’s season has been plagued by a hamstring issue and he is still racing to play a part at this World Cup. Lukaku missed the opener against Canada and seems likely to miss out against Morocco.

Belgium predicted lineup (3-4-3, right to left): 1. Courtois (GK) —16. Dendoncker, 2. Alderweireld, 5. Vertonghen — 21. Castagne, 8. Tielemans, 6. Witsel, 11. Carrasco — 7. De Bruyne, 23. Batshuayi, 10. E. Hazard

Left-back Noussair Mazraoui left the field on a stretcher one hour into Morocco’s draw with Croatia, and the rest of his tournament could be at risk. Morocco have yet to reveal the extent of the Bayern Munich star’s injury, though.

Youssef En-Nesyri played 80 minutes against Croatia but the physios will be keeping an eye on him. The striker picked up a hamstring issue in the tournament run-in playing for Sevilla.

Morocco predicted lineup (4-3-3, right to left): 1. Bounou (GK) — 2. Hakimi, 5. Aguerd, 6. Saiss, 25. Attiat-Allah — 8. Ounahi, 4. Amrabat, 15. Amallah — 7. Ziyech, 19. En-Nesyri, 17. Boufal

Belgium vs. Morocco odds, prediction

The ageing Belgian ‘golden generation’ is slated for victory over Hakim Ziyech and Co, despite a less-than convincing win over Canada.

There was only one goal between all four teams in the Group F openers, and the bookies are narrowly backing a low-scoring match.
