Barcelona are now planning to complete the signing of Robert Lewandowski before July 15. That is according to Helena Condis of Cope.

And this report is supported by Fabrizio Romano’s claim that the Blaugrana are already preparing a new official bid for the Bayern Munich striker. Xavi Hernandez wants to add Lewandowski to his team, and the player’s priority is to move to Camp Nou.

Memphis Depay was one of Barcelona’s standout players last season. But the potential arrival of Lewandowski could limit his playing time.

The activation of the economic levers was expected to provide Barcelona with some cash, which could prevent the sale of De Jong. That is currently not the case.

Barcelona are already considering the termination of some contracts, with Diario Sport reporting that an exit operation could affect 10 to 12 players.

Apart from freeing up space for the wage bill, another reason why Barcelona are planning to terminate the contracts of some players is to make room for incoming players. Samuel Umtiti and Neto are the first names on the termination list.
