It has seen the Blaugrana sign Pablo Torre from Racing Santander recently, while there is a deal in place for the arrival of Emre Demir. The La Liga giants are also trying to land Brazilian wonderkid Endrick.
And now, according to O Jogo Barcelona have set their sights on 16-year-old Portuguese prodigy Sana Fernandes who plies his trade for the Sporting CP youth team.
The teenage forward has been grabbing the attention of several clubs with his exploits for the youth teams of Sporting. He was part of the side that won the Portuguese Under-14 Championship in recent years and is currently plying his trade with the club’s Under-16 side.
Fernandes finished the 2021/22 campaign with an impressive return of ten goals in 21 matches for his team, showcasing his immense potential.
A versatile forward who can play across the frontline, Fernandes is also attracting interest from Premier League champions Manchester City which could pose a problem to Barcelona’s aspirations of signing him.
The 16-year-old will be out of contract with Sporting this month and the Portuguese giants have failed to convince him to prolong his stay at the club.
An exciting young talent, Fernandes can be a great addition to the La Masia ranks before growing into a first-team star at Barcelona. However, the club will have to beat Manchester City for the signing of the teenage prodigy.
