Barcelona young talents which includes Pablo Gavi, Pedri Gonzalez, Nico, Torre, will all be eyeing the number 8 jersey which was the number former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta wore to mark an era at the club.
The favourite player to wear the legendary number 8 jersey is Pedri Gonzalez who has been likened to the Iniesta because of his dribbling and playmaking skills.
Andres Iniesta made 673 appearances during his time at Barca scoring 57 goals and assisting 138 times. He is regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time and was important in the success of the club from the late 2000’s. He formed a formidable midfield partnership with current Barcelona coach Xavi and current Barcelona captain Busquet.
Pedri Gonzalez will be looking forward to be the successor of the great Iniesta, he has already won the golden boy award and also the Balon d’or youngest player of the year.
Dani Alves also talked about handling the number 8 jersey over to Pedri even during his second stint with Barca, so its a dream come through for Pedri now Alves is gone.
