Uncertainty is looming over how Barcelona and Araujo himself are going to approach the player’s recovery process. Two options have been handed out so far, with surgery appearing to be the safer option, especially in light of the broken adductor.
But should the stopper go under the knife, could see Araujo running the risk of missing the upcoming FIFA World Cup, as well as the better part of the season.

Achraf Ben Ayad reports that Barcelona want Araujo’s recovery to be swift, and as a result, they want to avoid the surgery.
Ben Ayad adds that the club plan to have a medical session with the player, in order to figure out the best possible route going forward.
Should Barcelona decide not to go ahead with the surgery, and instead opt for a conservative procedure, Araujo could recover much faster but there are no guarantees the player could return to full fitness after the procedure is over.
Either way, Barcelona look set to lose the defender who at least some time, which is a big blow for them as Araujo has been in impressive form this season so far.
He has started every league game for Barcelona in 2022/23, with his ability to operate at right-back also a huge boost for Xavi Hernandez and co.
