Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay gave the Catalan giant the three goals while the visitor got theirs from Julian Alvarez, Cole Palmer and Riyad Mahrez who scored the last minute goal via penalty where he put the ball away from the spot.

Despite the game ending in draw between the two sides, here are three Barcelona players who performed brilliantly in the match:

Jules Kounde

The France international and prolific defender was phenomenal at the heart of the defence line where he showed some top notch qualities that explained what the club have been missing by not been able to make his La Liga Santander debut yet.

The former Sevilla star was solid at the back line as it proved that his appearance at the central defence role with either of Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo or Gerard Pique could bring out the very best in the team’s delivery this season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Gabonese striker was fantastic at the heart of the forward line as he played his part and also contributed his quota in the six-goal thriller where he scored a wonderful volley that got his side levelled when they were initially trailing with a goal from behind.

Frenkie de Jong

The Dutch midfielder was also incredible at the heart of the centre-field where he used his vast experience coupled with his physical, tactical and technical skills which earned him a goal in the second half of the game and was instrumental in the hard-fought draw.

They will all be optimistic to keep the tempo going for the Los Blaugranas in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the current campaign.
