On that note, I’ve decided to put up this article, to highlight how both Lewandowski and Karim Benzema performed for their respective clubs during the just concluded season.
1. Karim Benzema of Real Madrid.
Last season was the best Season ever for Karim Benzema. He led Real Madrid to league glory, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists in La Liga.
This season, the Frenchman singlehandedly fired Real Madrid to the Champions league finals. On Saturday, he will hope to lead his team to glory against premier league club, Liverpool.
Karim Benzema also led Real Madrid to Spanish Super Cup victory earlier this year. He also finished the season as winner of the golden boot award.
Since the beginning of the season till now, the Frenchman has scored 43 goals and provided 13 assists in 43 appearances so far. If he wins the champions league, his chances of winning the Ballon D’Or award will be quite high.
2. Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski on the other hand, also enjoyed an amazing campaign with Bayern Munich last season. He won the German Super Cup trophy, and the German Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich.
The Polish striker, finished last season with 49 goals and 7 assists in 45 appearances for Bayern Munich. He also ended the season with the golden boot award.
