Functions of the liver

1. Assists in the breakdown or conversion of substances.

5. It aids in the detoxification process by reducing the toxic effects of toxins on the body.

6. It converts poisonous ammonia to urea.

Since the liver is such a fragile organ, it can be harmed by certain factors. It is harmed because it is unable to perform its tasks effectively.
Some liver disorders react well to treatment, while others do not.
Autoimmune hepatitis, biliary atresia, cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatitis C, among others are some of the diseases that can affect the liver.

1. Alcohol

In moderation, alcohol is beneficial to the body, but in excess, it is harmful to one’s health.

Since the liver is in charge of the body’s detoxification process, excessive alcohol consumption can cause liver inflammation.

It may also cause liver cirrhosis and other liver diseases if consumed in excess.

Excessive alcohol consumption can damage the kidneys while also increasing the risk of other heart diseases. For the sake of your health, please restrict your alcohol consumption.

2. Sugar and salt

Excessive sugar consumption is harmful to the body’s system.

Excess sugar allows fat to build upon the liver, which is responsible for glucose metabolism.

Smoking causes oxdative stress, which puts additional strain on the liver’s ability to detoxify the blood, and the toxic chemicals released during this phase can contribute to liver cancer.

You will keep your liver healthy by making some lifestyle improvements. A few of them are:

2. Exercising consistently.
