Atletico Madrid started the game well by dominating and utilizing their attackers to punish Sevilla. The visitors made silly mistakes which the host capitalised on. Memphis Depay was the star man of the match as he scored a brace in the first 25 minutes which threw the home fans in awe.
Sevilla reacted well by scoring the equalizer through Youssef En-Nesyri before halftime. Atletico Madrid came out stronger in the second half by extending their lead to 3-1 through Antoine Greizmann. The French playmaker scored from a distance as Wanda Metropolitano erupts.
Yannick Carrasco was not left out in the goal festival as he also scored from Pablo Barrios’s assist. Two goals from Alvaro Morata sealed the 6-1 for Atletico Madrid as Sevilla had a player sent off. Greizmann finished the match with a goal and two assists.
However, fans have expressed their dissatisfaction over why Barcelona had to let Greizmann and Depay leave the club only to be short of players in their attack. The fans feel Barcelona made a mistake by letting them go because they would have let the team keep going if they were still at the club.
