Though Oleksandr Zinchenko, Cedric Soares, and Reiss Nelson all missed out on Arsenal’s last Premier League squad to face Brentford, it looks like they all have a chance at returning before the north London derby.

Goal report that Arsenal are hopeful Zinchenko’s calf injury isn’t serious, and they believe he’ll be back in action relatively swiftly. Specifically, they’re hopeful he’ll return in time for the north London derby.

The Ukrainian FA initially broke the bad news that Zinchenko had suffered a muscle injury in training. They claimed it would require a two-week absence for treatment and recovery last Friday, which would put his expected return date just before the derby.

As for Cedric, Goal claim it’s “likely” the north London derby will be his first game back in the squad. He was only set for two weeks out, and it’s already been more than two weeks since then.

Finally, Nelson should reportedly also be available for the derby, which is less of a surprise. The winger had already confirmed he was back in training having completed his injury rehabilitation before the Brentford game.

Having the trio back, along with Martin Odegaard who has been featuring for Norway over the international break, should help to bolster what was becoming an increasingly thin squad ahead of the trip to Brentford.

It’s less likely we’ll see 15-year-olds on the pitch against Spurs, which is probably a good thing for all concerned.
