According to reports, the midfielder has been experiencing discomfort in his groin which has seen him feature in fewer games this season.
The surgery which took place in London in the past few days was successful and the midfielder is already on a rehabilitation programme.
The injury to Smith-Rowe became severe in the Premier League game against Manchester United on September 4th, 2022.
He is expected to return to full training in December 2022. Arsenal supporters will hope the injury to the midfielder does not affect the club’s quest to finish in the top four at the end of the Premier League season.
