According to Metro, Arsenal is confident that they will be able to outbid Chelsea for Jesus by coming to an agreement with Man City.

With his contract set to reach the last year before expiration, Jesus’ future at Etihad has been in murky seas. In an effort to maximize the value of a prospective sale this summer, the Citizens have thus offered his services to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian could go to Emirates because of Mikel Arteta, and it also appears that the Gunners are currently in the lead. They appear to be more optimistic now about beating the Blues, who are now pursuing Jesus alongside Real Madrid, to the finish line.

Right now, it is quite obvious how adding to the offensive has also become necessary, just like adding to the defense has been necessary. Romelu Lukaku, after all, is likely to return to Inter Milan, while Thomas Tuchel is currently open to offers for Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech.

Chelsea would have very few alternatives in the offensive department going into the following campaign should these probable departures occur. Jesus, who excels at playing in all forward positions, would have been ideal for Chelsea in this situation, but it appears that he will join Mikel Arteta’s team this summer.

That is really alarming because the signing of the 25-year-old would help Chelsea compete with Manchester City and Liverpool. According to recent reports, the North London club is prepared to make a bid for him that is closer to the £50 million price set by the Premier League winners.

Although the South American loss is a crushing blow to Chelsea team’s improvement aspirations, it is not the end of the road for them. After all, there are still other choices, such Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona, who is expected to become a free agency this summer, Raheem Sterling of Pep Guardiola’s team, and Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig.

Even though Chelsea still have other targets to work on, losing one of the candidates on the shortlist significantly decreases Their prospects of getting a reinforcement. Since nothing is now certain, having additional options would ultimately be advantageous. Only time will tell whether or not there will be any new twists in this quest to sign Jesus.
