Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side has been on terrific form since their preseason began and the young Gunners has transferred their preseason form into the new season. The Gunners made a solid start to the new season with a well deserved 2-0 win.

Goals from Gabriel Martinelli and an own goal by Guehi were enough to give Arsenal the win.

Arsenal move top of the table with two goals difference pending the results of the other premier league opening fixtures scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Four (4) players played exceptionally well in today’s match.

1. Thomas Partey:

Partey was exceptional in today’s game as he ran the midfield like a boss. The Ghanian international was everywhere on the pitch, winning possession and setting up counterattacks for the team.

2. Gabriel Martinelli:

Gabriel Martinelli has already resumed where he stopped last season as he continues his scoring form. The Brazilian was the sharpest player in attack today and capped it off with a beautiful goal to put Arsenal in front early in the first half.

3. Bukayo Saka:

Bukayo Saka has a successful campaign last season and the England forward has continue where he stopped by shining in today’s EPL Opener.

Saka has kicked off the season with a bang, dazzling the opposition defence with his dribbling skills and helping on counterattacks. He was very sharp and troubled Palace defence throughout the first half and assisted the second goal to win the game for the Gunners.

4. Oleksandr Zinchenko:

Ukrainian left-back has made a strong statement in his first game for the Gunners. Oleksandr Zinchenko’s performance was exceptional and was lauded by the visiting Arsenal fans present at Selhurst Park whenever he touches the ball. He kept Wilfred Zaha quiet and effectively neutralize his threat.

His performance in today’s has surely won the heart of Arsenal fans and he capped it off with an assist.
