Many heartbreaking incidents have been occurring in Nigeria which has left many people in distress. A few days ago, the case of Sylvester Oromoni, the 12-year-old schoolboy bullied by other students leading to his death has been on the front pages. Today, 7 December 2021 few days to Christmas, a tragic event occurred alongside Ogunusi Road, a Grammar School bus stop in Lagos state. It was gathered that after closing from their school, the students headed to their respective homes not knowing what fate has for them. When they were about to cross the road, a reckless truck driver who seems to be under the influence ran over the innocent students. Having learned about the damages he have done, the driver drove off not minding the damages he have done. He was chased to Ogba by angry onlookers who were devastated by the cruelty of the reckless driver. When the angry mob caught on with the driver, police officers were notified and they made their way to the scene.
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command revealed that they have arrested the driver of a hit-and-run truck and interrogation is being made. This was revealed by the police public relations officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu. This will be a piece of very sad news to the parents of the school pupils who sent their children to school to secure them a sound future. I hope security operatives will hold the evil-doer very stiffly and make him pay for the damages and pain inflicted on the family and relatives of his victims.
