The villagers are vandalising police vehicles, as they continue to riot.
This violent eruption leaves many questions unanswered, particularly regarding the events leading up to the mob’s deadly decision.

This incident is part of a disturbing trend of sibling murders that have plagued the country recently. Over the past two months, police have reported two similar cases.
In May, in the Teso North area of Busia, a man accused of killing his brother in a dispute over funeral meat distribution was lynched by a mob days after the incident.
The victim, James Ocharo, aged 57, was dragged from his hideout and brutally killed by villagers seeking retribution.
Just last month, another tragic sibling conflict ended in bloodshed in Chepalungu, Bomet County. A 57-year-old man stabbed his 64-year-old brother to death during a land dispute.
The suspect, armed with a kitchen knife, inflicted fatal wounds on his brother, Zakayo Kiplangat Ng’etich, who succumbed to his injuries. The assailant fled the scene but was later apprehended by police.
These incidents underscore a broader issue of violent crime in Kenya. The national police service’s economic survey for 2023 reported 1,942 murders in 2022.
