In an incident that took place yesterday on Thursday 4th, April, 2024, the police say that the security guard connived with the robbers who came to Mack fuel Station, pretending to be in need of fueling their car.

“We suspect that the security guard was the mastermind of the robbery because he reportedly served porridge laced with chloroform to the other two guards at the station shortly before the other thugs invaded the station in the early morning hours of Thursday,” said Sam Twineamazima, the Savannah regional police spokesperson.

Twineamazima further stated that the criminals, who were dressed in civilian wear, disguised themselves as needing fuel worth Shs50,000, but later, after the guards had slept off, they surrounded the pump attendant and stole all the money from him.

The security guard, who works at the fuel station, then joined them, threatening the pump attendant with a gun. The robbers then impounded two other station employees and proceeded to the office where they stole Shs24.8 million, laptops, and agency mobile phones.

The guard, after the heist, dropped the gun at the fuel station and ran away with his associates.

The other two security guards who were found unconscious were identified as Tabitha Labacanda and Angesilas Paddy and they were rushed to Bishop Asili Hospital in Luweero Town for medical attention.

Unlike other robberies, no gun shots were fired nor was anyone harmed in this one and the police have since started investigations to bring the thugs from wherever they could be hiding…CONTINUE READING>>
