Police said the incident happened on Sunday, June 2 evening at Ace Autocentre Garage, Industrial Area, Nairobi.

The garage specializes in repairing Mercedes Benz cars.

Police who visited the scene said all affected cars were Mercedes Benz and that they are yet to know the cause of the fire along Gilgil Road.

Nairobi fire brigade responded and managed to put off the fire.

No injury was reported in the incident, police said. Workers at the facility had left for the day when the fire broke out, police said.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said experts visited the scene on Monday as part of the probe into the incident.

The owners of the cars were asked to report the matter to file for insurance compensation even as investigations went on.

Meanwhile, police in Menengai, Nakuru, are looking for a gang of 15 that raided a store and stole assorted household goods valued at Sh3 million.

This was after they had beaten up guards and other workers who were at the go-down on Saturday night.

A gang had gained entry into the go-down while armed with crude weapons and found the workers on duty.

They then rounded them up and forced them into one of the rooms there where they were found tied.

This was after they robbed them of their mobile phones, office laptops, all electronics, and cash.

They then started to load assorted materials into their two lorries that had arrived and fled to an unknown destination.

During the incident three of the staff sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, police said.

No arrest has been made so far but police said they are pursuing the gang.
