Manchester United fans were left squealing after Casemiro’s magnificent pass for their second goal against Chelsea.

The Brazilian was a thorn in Blues’ sides yet again. He followed up his late equaliser in United’s draw at Stamford Bridge in October with another powerful header in their 4-1 victory at Old Trafford.

But while he dazzled in the midfield, his finest moment came on the stroke of half time when he dinked a wonderful, no-look pass to Jadon Sancho, who then squared the ball for an easy tap-in for Anthony Martial. While the former Real Madrid star banked neither a goal nor an assist for his involvement, United fans may never forget his vital contribution.

“That pass from Casemiro was pure filth,” one fan commented. “Just beautiful football regardless if it’s deserved or not,” wrote another supporter,” said a second, who evidently did not rate United’s display until then.

“I want to say a big thank you to Real Madrid for Casemiro,” said a third, referencing the £70m United paid to his former side last summer. “Put that Casemiro pass in a frame and hang it on display,” an even more mesmerised fan tweeted.

A fifth even issued a firm demand to his fellow Reds, saying “take a second to appreciate that Casemiro pass, world class.” One supporter even compared him to one of the club’s all-time greats.

“Truly great pass from Casemiro. Like Scholes against Milan,” they wrote. Two of Casemiro’s four Premier League goals this season have actually come against the West Londoners.

However, his finest moment came in the League Cup final when he opened the scoring at Wembley, to put the Reds on their way to their first trophy under Ten Hag. He, and United, will need all of their experience when they return to the capital to face Manchester City in the FA Cup Final.

The Red Devils are the only English side who can stop City winning the Treble this season.
