Data collected on Monday, October 7, 2024, with a sample size of 1,892 Kenyans, indicates that 41% are in favor of Gachaguaโ€™s removal and 38% are against it.

According to TIFA, the majority of those opposed are from the Mount Kenya area. Of Kenyans in the area, 69% are against the move, 20% are in favor, and 11% are not sure.

According to data from other areas, 47% of Kenyans agreed with the DPโ€™s removal, 28% opposed it, and 24% were not sure.

The majority of participants who support the DPโ€™s impeachment cite hate speech that supports his community and racial prejudice as their reasons for wanting him removed.

Some respondents suggested that the DPโ€™s removal from office was necessary because of their poor performance, weak leadership, and broken commitments.

The remaining 13% support Gachaguaโ€™s resignation, citing his corruption and misuse of power, while the remaining 12% advocate impeaching the president simply because the DP disagrees with him.

In the same sentence, 1% of respondents said the DP should be removed for backing Gen Z demonstrations, while 2% of those who supported the impeachment petition highlighted differences with other UDA officials.

On the other side, the majority of individuals against the movement claim that the DP is the target of unjust criticism, while some others point out that the second-in-command has shown integrity and excellent performance.

Some say the DP should work with his boss to finish their term, while 7% of impeachment opponents want Gachagua and the president impeached together.

Six percent believe the DP should have another chance, while four percent believe there is no clear reason for the DPโ€™s impeachment.

Four percent think that the impeachment of Gachagua would undermine national stability, four more percent feel that the DP has the backing of the Mt Kenya community, and three percent think that the motion is meant to divert the spotlight away from domestic issues.

1% of the opposition stated that it wonโ€™t bring about any changes in the nation, while the remaining 2% expressed uncertainty.

The survey, which was carried out from October 1 to 4, also showed that 58% of Kenyans in the Mount Kenya area anticipate that Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki will succeed the DP, while 30% think that other regions will produce the future DP.

Five percent of the respondents believe Forein Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi will succeed Gachagua, while the remaining five percent believe Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro will be the next DP.

Other respondents named Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as Gachaguaโ€™s successor, and her colleague from Homa Bay, Gladys Wangaโ€ฆCLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
