Prior his move to Manchester City, Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland received a host of backlash from a section of football fans who thought he was too soft for the speed and intensity of the English Premier League....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>
What’s more, several clubs including the Cityzens arch rivals, Manchester United passed on the opportunity to secure his signature due to his whooping €72million price tag.
And now, the 21 year old has taken the league as his own, dominating defenders right, left and center, giving them real nightmares in a broad daylight with his latest goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers taking his tally to 14 in just nine competitive appearances for the Pep Guardiola’s side.
In addition, the goal against the Wolves has now seen him break a Premier League record with him surpassing Coventry City forward, Mick Quinn’s record of most EPL goals scored after 7 matches.
This follows after he recently became the youngest player to score for and against the same team (Borussia Dortmund) in the UEFA Champions League.
Hence, going by his hot goal scoring form, the 21 year old surely deserves the English Premier League golden boot award in advance as no striker would be able to come close to his tally at the moment.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohammed Salah, Jammie Vardy, Ivan Toney, Marcus Rashford, Gabriel Jesus as well as Anthony Martial are way too behind the Norwegian’s numbers.
What’s more, majority of the Premier League strikers are currently struggling to find their form with Ronaldo currently on a run of zero goals and zero assists since the start of the 2022/23 season, with his counterparts Martial and Rashford nursing injuries.
Though impossible, it would really be interesting to see the Football Association announce the golden boot winner before the end of the season and accepting the potential outcome by May, 2023 because as things stand, it would take a great miracle for Haaland to miss out on the award.
