The Chelsea defender sustained a hamstring injury during pre-season, initially expected to return in October.

However, a setback prolonged his time on the treatment table.

Details about Chalobah’s injury remained scarce until his long-awaited return to action against Manchester City last month, four months later than initially anticipated.

Recalling the setback, Chalobah shared with club media: “I felt really good.

The rehab with the staff here [at Cobham] was excellent, I had been working outside for a while, I had done all my conditioning and been managed really carefully.”

“Then you’ve got to step it up. You know that is coming. But in the first drill of that session, my hamstring went again. Man, that was the toughest moment for me.

A real hard one. But you’ve got to understand it, accept it, and then get back to work.”

Despite the setback, Chalobah has made four appearances this season but faces uncertainty about his future at Chelsea.

The club is open to offers for the 24-year-old academy graduate as they aim to generate funds for future transfers. Chalobah remains committed to the club regardless of his playing time.

Reflecting on his future, Chalobah stated to the Evening Standard, “With all the noise going on around me, I just tried to stay focused on me being at the club and how much I love the club.

I will fight, no matter what, whether I play or I don’t play.”

While Chalobah is not eager to leave Chelsea, he would consider departing for the right offer.
