Gitonga was rushed to Uhai Neema Hospital, where he is being held by police as investigations continue. Nairobi – Police are holding a 33-year-old man linked to the mysterious murder of a 19-year-old lady in the Thome area, Kasarani.
On the morning of Saturday, March 2, Joan Mbula Nzomo was found dead on the ground floor of an apartment where she had spent the previous night with a man identified as Lawrence Gitonga.
Preliminary investigations show Joan was only wearing a red t-shirt when she fell off the 10th floor of the White House apartments.
Citizen TV reported that police are trying to establish whether she was pushed out of the room, was running away or took her own life.
When detectives arrived at the scene, they discovered that she spent the night in room J06, which served as a short-stay accommodation but was locked.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations contacted the owner, who opened it only to find an unconscious man lying on the floor with stab wounds.
The man had bled profusely due to the eight stab wounds on the chest and back, which he told police were inflicted on him by the girl.
He was rushed to Uhai Neema Hospital, where police are guarding him as they try to unravel the mysterious death of the 19-year-old woman.
