Back pain can be the result of trauma, such as a fall or a car accident. But most often back pain is the result of an everyday activity done incorrectly and diets, activities as common as twisting to reach or lift an object, sitting at a computer in the same position for hours, and bending over to vacuum.

According to Healthline, here are things you should avoid that worsen your back pain.

Avoid sugary foods: Sugary foods are among the worst foods that you can eat. Not only can sugary foods trigger inflammation, but they can also cause weight gain. Excess weight can worsen back pain. You should also avoid foods with artificial sweeteners because they can also trigger inflammation.

Stop slouching: First and foremost, stop slouching. One of the most common cause of low back pain is poor sitting posture. The strain on the back while sitting in a slouched position can cause excessive pressure on the joints, muscles, and discs, causing pain.

Avoid wearing heels: By wearing heels you may overuse muscles in your lower back and harm your posture and your spine, especially as you age. If you wear them at the office, you might bring a pair of walking shoes for your commute. Regular foot and leg stretches, like rolling your foot on a tennis ball, may help prevent pain and strengthen muscles.

Take a lot of breaks: Every 10 minutes, take at least 20 seconds to stop typing and stand and stretch. And every 20 minutes, even if you took a break in between, stand and spend at least 2 minutes away from your computer.
