Manchester United have officially announced their travelling squad to Oslo where they will take on Leeds United in a pre-season friendly tomorrow afternoon, but there are four surprising absentees....CONTINUE READING>>

Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek, Antony, and Anthony Martial have seemingly missed out on Erik ten Hag’s travelling team. In regards to Henderson, it has been reported that the goalkeeper is keen to leave United in search of regular first-team football.

Nottingham Forest are reported by the Post to be the frontrunners for the goalkeeper’s signature and may be able to reportedly sign the English goalkeeper for as little as £20 million. With Andre Onana’s potential move to United reportedly in the final stage, then the absence of Henderson makes sense.

Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek miss out

Surprisingly, or perhaps unsurprisingly, there is seemingly no place in the travelling squad for Martial. The French forward started just 11 times in the Premier League with repeated injury issues seeming to stop his season from gaining any sort of momentum.

With United still in the market for a new centre-forward, and with Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund reportedly the top target, it seems that Martial’s time in Manchester could potentially be coming to an end.

Another player’s future which could seemingly be away from Old Trafford is Donny van de Beek. The Dutch midfielder who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the last few days, is not part of the travelling squad.

Now, whether this is down to an imminent transfer remains to be seen. But, what is clear is that seemingly the midfielder is not part of Ten Hag’s plans for the season, especially with there being so many absences in the midfield for United. A pre-season friendly against Leeds was seemingly a great opportunity to give him a chance.

Mason Mount is included and Lisandro Martinez is also back but Antony misses out

After picking up that nasty injury in the 2-2 draw against Sevilla at Old Trafford, Martinez is back in the squad. With Raphael Varane and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also included, it looks like a strong defence.

New summer signing Mason Mount is also included in the travelling squad after he completed his move from Chelsea, last week. It’ll be a chance for Ten Hag to experiment with the English midfielder ahead of the new season.

Brazilian winger Antony, however, misses out on the travelling squad for reasons, as of yet, unknown.
