1. Undescended testicles.
During fetal development, one or both testicles sometimes fail to descend from the abdomen into the sac that normally contains the testicles. Decreased fertility is more likely in men with this condition.
2. Hypogonadism.
Hypogonadism is an abnormally low level of testosterone, the sexual hormone involved in the production of the reproductive cell. It could be caused by a tumor taking illegal drugs.
3. Varicoceles.
Varicoceles are swollen veins in the testicles. They are common in infertile men. It harms the growth of the male reproductive cells by blocking proper blood drainage.
4. Infections.
Infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, mumps, or HIV can also cause blockage and poor production of the male reproductive cells.
