4 Biggest Moves Of This Transfer Window So Far,The summer transfer window for 2022–23 will soon conclude. Only three days remain before the transfer market ends (on September 1), and the majority of clubs have already signed or are about to sign their top targets. On deadline day, there might still be significant transfers, but they probably won’t overtake the largest ones we’ve already seen....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

We’ll examine a handful of the transfers that have the football community buzzing this summer today. The four priciest acquisitions made so far during the summer transfer window are listed below:

Please take note that we have only listed moves that have been verified or confirmed by reliable sources. Transfermarkt has been used as the source unless otherwise stated.

4. Casemiro (Manchester United) — €70.65 million

Casemiro, a five-time Champions League champion defensive midfielder, joined Manchester United in August after a trophy-laden tenure at Real Madrid. One of the priciest signings of the summer, the Red Devils shelled out €70.65 million for his services.

Erik ten Hag has a superb interceptor and a born leader in Casemiro, and both of those traits were on display in his debut on Saturday (August 27). When Casemiro was introduced at Southampton in the second half, he rarely made a mistake and performed his defensive responsibilities with composure as the Red Devils easily won 1-0.

Casemiro is perhaps the best defensive midfielder in the world, something Manchester United has long yearned for. The Brazilian’s adaptability and ability to keep up with the Premier League’s most fearsome attackers will be interesting to see.

3. Darwin Nunez (Liverpool) — €75 million

Earlier this summer, Sadio Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich after deciding to go for a new challenge. They ended up strengthening their center-forward position with a new face even though they still have Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino at their disposal.

Darwin Nunez joins Liverpool for a whopping €75 million after leaving Benfica and carrying a significant price tag. He made his professional debut against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield, scoring once to lead the Reds to a 3-1 victory. On his Premier League debut, the Uruguayan international also grabbed attention by contributing a goal and an assist in a 2-2 tie with Fulham.

Nunez played his first game at Anfield on matchday two of the Premier League, and he celebrated the occasion most peculiarly. The attacker was rightfully shown a straight red in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace after he headbutted Joachim Andresen. Since then, he has served his ban and is now qualified to play against Everton on Saturday, September 3.

2. Aurelien Tchouameni (Real Madrid) — €80 million

This summer, Aurelien Tchouameni moved from AS Monaco to the reigning European champions Real Madrid for a staggering €80 million transfer fee. When Tchouameni signed, Casemiro, Los Blancos’ first-choice central defensive midfielder, was still with the team, making his acquisition seem like an extravagant expenditure. Now that the Brazilian is no longer around, Tchouameni is expected to step up and begin leaving his legacy.

Tchouameni has played for the All Whites in four games so far this year, and he has impressed observers with his passing range and composure. Tchouameni compensates for his lack of physical dominance relative to Casemiro with shrewd passing and deft mobility. Carlo Ancelotti is known for developing young players to their full potential. Tchouameni might, with any luck, become the Italian manager’s newest success tale.

1. Antony (Manchester United) — €100 million

Manchester United lost to Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion in back-to-back games to begin the 2022–23 Premier League season. Since then, they have recovered with back-to-back victories against Liverpool and Southampton, but they are not becoming too cocky with their most recent triumphs.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Antony is expected to be the club’s most recent high-profile acquisition as they look to continue strengthening their roster to remain competitive this season. The aforementioned source claims that United and Ajax have reached a €100 million agreement for the latter’s winger Antony. The Brazilian is reportedly close to passing his physical.

Antony excels on the right side but is also at ease playing on the left. He moved to Ajax from Sao Paulo in July 2020. The two-time Eredivisie champion has played for the Dutch team in 82 games thus far, contributing 24 goals and 22 assists.
