The official announcement of the signing of Jurien Timber came first. The Dutchman was signed from Ajax after enjoying another impressive season with the Dutch Eredivisie giants. He was signed for €45 million.

Timber is known for his ability on the ball and his passing range. Given his height and the form of William Saliba and Mahalgaes last season, it is likely that the Dutch defender would be playing as Arsenal’s first-choice right-back next season.

The Gunners also announced the completion of the deal to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United a few hours ago.

Arsenal paid €117 million for the English midfielder who would be expected to replace Thomas Partey in the defensive midfield position.

In the last few days, the transfer of Arda Guler to Real Madrid has been completed with the Spanish La Liga club striking a deal for the Turkish attacker after agreeing to pay Fenerbache more than €30 million if all add-on conditions are met.

Just as the Gunners have been signing midfielders they are also actively looking to let some leave the club. Granit Xhaka is the first out of the door after joining Bayer Leverkusen for £21.5 million.
