Nigeria vs Mexico.....READ THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

Nigeria will play Mexico in a friendly match on Saturday for the first time since their World Cup qualifying agony in March.

Meanwhile, the North Americans enter the game undefeated in their past seven games across all competitions and will seek to keep this good run going.

After finishing second in CONCACAF qualifying, Mexico will be one of 32 countries competing at the World Cup in November.

El Tri won eight of 14 games, drew four, and lost two to finish with 28 points, three ahead of the USA and just behind Canada on goal differential.

Mexico is coming off a goalless draw with Guatemala on April 28 at the Camping World Stadium, the first of four friendlies before their CONCACAF Nations League opening against Suriname on June 12.

Gerardo Martino’s side have won four of their past eight matches in all competitions after losing 2-1 to Canada in November 2021.

Mexico will want to continue their winning streak on Saturday against a team they have never lost to in six previous matches (3 wins, 3 draws).

This follows an equally devastating run in the Africa Cup of Nations, when the Super Eagles won their group before losing 1-0 to Tunisia on January 23.

Nigeria will be aiming to put those two losses behind them and return to winning ways, but they haven’t won in nine friendlies, losing four and drawing five.

Paul Onuachu scored in the first minute to beat Egypt 1-0 in the Stephen Keshi Stadium in March 2019.

The Super Eagles have a 30-man squad, featuring Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman.

Veteran defender Leon Balogun and 25-year-old midfielder Joe Aribo are also in the squad.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have been dropped, while Feyenoord’s Cyriel Desser has been called up.

Yusuf, who is also in charge of the CHAN Eagles and the Under-23 team, has included Enyimba FC attacker Victor Mbaoma and the goalkeeping combo of Adewale Adeyinka and Ojo Olorunleke.
