According to Diario AS, there are various reasons why Sevilla star Jules Kounde’s potential move to Chelsea has failed to come to fruition, despite personal agreements between the player and the London club....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>
According to the Spanish newspaper, the 23-year-old has already agreed to sign a five-year contract with Chelsea this summer.
This isn’t surprising, given that Kounde was on the verge of joining Chelsea, but Sevilla and Chelsea couldn’t agree on transfer fees.
Chelsea and Sevilla, on the other hand, are said to be in advanced talks, with a final price tag of €60 million (£51.2 million) to €65 million (£55.5 million). So, despite all of this, why does the transfer saga continue?
There are three causes, according to Diario AS.
Self Evident
The first item on the list is self-evident: Chelsea’s recent change of ownership, which put a halt to all transfer negotiations for a few months.
Sevilla wants a replacement before they could sell Jules Kounde to Chelsea
The second reason is that Sevilla are allegedly insistent on getting a new center-back before selling Kounde, despite having already sold Diego Carlos to Aston Villa earlier this month.
Finally, AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni’s prospective Real Madrid move may have dragged down Kounde’s planned Chelsea move, according to reports.
Tchouameni and Kounde not only work for the same sports agency, Excellence Sport Nation, but also have the same agent, Jonathan Kebe, according to the article.
Tchouameni’s transfer to Real Madrid is allegedly nearing completion, according to Kebe. Kounde, along with Tchouameni, is now on overseas duty with France. A possible delay in transfer confirmation should not be a major issue if Chelsea and Sevilla are close to finalizing the deal, as the story claims.
