If your urine appears foamy, it could be an indication that your bladder is full. But they are also health conditions that could also make your urine foamy.
Some of the medical conditions that make your urine look foamy are as follows.
1. Kidney disease
One major function of the kidneys is filtering proteins in the blood. These proteins carry out significant functions in the body, like maintaining a balance of fluids.
If an individual suffers from kidney issues or disease, proteins can start to leak from the kidneys into the urine.
If a person’s urine is persistently foamy, it may be an indication of proteinuria. This can be an early indication that you are suffering from kidney disease.
2. Diabetes
High blood sugar can make your urine to be foamy.
Diabetic nephropathy is a health issue linked with type 2 diabetes. It is caused by changes in the structure and formation of the kidneys.
Some studies recommend that damage to the small blood vessel and filtration systems caused by diabetic nephropathy may make proteins flow into the urine more freely. This may make your urine foamy.
3. Dehydration
If an individual becomes dehydrated, their urine may appear darker and more concentrated than normal. This is because they are not drinking enough clear fluids to dilute the other substances, like protein, in the urine.
Proteins possess surfactant properties and, when present in large amounts, may make urine foamy.
