There are different types of hepatitis which may have different but sometimes overlapping causes. In this article I will highlight three major causes of hepatitis and foods that you should eat regularly to help fight or deal with it.

 

As I’ve mentioned already, hepatitis is simply or basically the inflammation of your liver cells or hepatocytes which can progress to a serious liver disease known as liver cirrhosis and then to end stage liver damage where your liver can no longer carry out it’s functions effectively as it should.

1. Having unsafe sex with someone who is already infected.

2. Drinking and eating unsafe foods and drinks that contains the hepatitis virus.

3. Alcohol. Taking alcohol in large amounts can lead to inflammation of the liver which can progress to a worse form of the disease.

As you must have read in my previous articles, asides taking of drugs, diet is one of the major ways to to manage health problems such as this. Below are foods that can help fight hepatitis.

1. Beans. Beans is rich in soluble fibre which is good for the liver.

2. Pineapples. Like beans fruits like pineapples contain fibre which is good for fighting hepatitis. It also contains antioxidants which helps to expel free radicals from the liver thus helping to prevent further exacerbation of the condition.

3. Oranges. Same as pineapples. They are a good source of antioxidants and soluble fibre.

4. Oats. This food is a very good diet option for increasing the level of fibre in your system. It is also good for liver disease such as hepatitis.

5. Egg white. Without the yolk, egg white is a good diet option for fighting hepatitis.
