The Blues are widely reported to be keen on a deal for the Frenchman, with them still looking for another centre-back before the window shuts at the end of this month.

While a signing may not be completed before the Premier League curtain raiser on Friday, the club may be encouraged to accelerate their move for Fofana given his latest social media actions.

The Frenchman also took to Instagram to offer a cryptic clue for his future.

The Blues should see this as encouragement to move for the 21-year-old, with him looking the perfect option to fit into their defence which is currently lacking numbers.

His impact on the Foxes was noticeable when he missed the majority of last season through injury, with them falling way short of their league finish from 12 months earlier.

After missing out on Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt, it will have begun to worry Chelsea fans that they were going to be going into this season extremely short of numbers at the back, however developments over the last few days will have begun to address that.

The club are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Marc Cucurella, with Thomas Tuchel seeing him as a perfect option to feature on the left of a back three. The addition of Fofana would be an extremely strong end to the window.
