Mamman Nda-Eri, the chairperson of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), announced the results.

Nda-Eri said the APC also won all 239 councillorship seats in the state.

He described the LGA elections as โ€œpeaceful, free, and fairโ€.

โ€œAPC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing to the other 18 political parties that took part in the election,โ€ NAN quoted Nda-Eri as saying.

โ€œThe results declared at the headquarters were earlier declared at the various collations centres by the respective returning officers.

โ€œAs chairman of KOSIEC, I hereby confirm the results earlier collated and returned by the returning officers.โ€

The KOSIEC chairman expressed gratitude to election officials, security personnel, observers, and journalists, acknowledging their role in ensuring a successful electoral process.

Notably, a woman won the chairperson seat in Ogori-Magongo LGA.

Ahead of the polls, the Kogi APC had reserved LGA vice-chairperson positions for women.
