Speaking to the media, Gachagua affirmed that he has no issue being associated with the nation’s youth as they represent a significant force.
“If they say Gen Zs belong to Rigathi Gachagua, then I am a very popular politician. No politician in Kenya wouldn’t want support from the Gen Zs,” Gachagua stated.
Gachagua emphasized that Gen Z is a powerful group capable of helping any politician to become president if they have their backing.
“If you have Gen Zs, you’ll be the president of Kenya very early in the morning. However, everybody knows that the anger kenyans had was due to the Finance Bill. When I was in Mombasa, I asked why we didn’t listen to the concerns raised by Kenyans,” he added
Gachagua also expressed gratitude to the court for halting the arrests of MPs James Gakuya and Benjamin Mejjadonk, who are allied with him. Gakuya and Mejjadonk were to be arrested over allegations of funding of Gen Z-led anti-Finance Bill and anti-government protests.
He claimed the police attempted to arrest them in an effort to tarnish his reputation without valid cause. “The president said that the people from the Ford Foundation were the ones behind the anti-government protests.
