The Niger State-based former Head of State endorsed Osinbajo when he played host to the Osinbajo Grassroots Organization in Minna, Niger State capital. He asked Osinbajo to be resilient and contest the Presidency in 2023.

What could have made Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida support Yemi Osinbajo rather than Bukola Saraki?

The question on many people’s minds is that why could Babangida support Yemi Osinbajo ahead of former Senate President Bukola Saraki whom he endorsed for the 2019 presidential election.

Many people also thought that Babangida will endorse Saraki again because they are of the same geopolitical zone. While Babangida hails from Niger State, Bukola Saraki hails from Kwara State, all in the North Central region of Nigeria.

Babangida might have considered Yemi Osinbajo to become the next President of Nigeria because of the yearnings of many Nigerians who are calling for the Southern presidency in 2023.
