Hoffner was found deceased by staff at the Brookdale Lake View senior living community, according to her close friend, Joe Conant. She peacefully passed away in her sleep on Sunday night.

On October 1, Hoffner completed a tandem skydive that could potentially secure her a place in the record books as the world’s oldest skydiver.

She leaped from an altitude of 13,500 feet (4,100 meters) at Skydive Chicago in Ottawa, Illinois, located 85 miles (140 kilometers) southwest of Chicago, while harnessed to a certified instructor.
