However, when ascertaining the financial worth of a player, age and form are key metrics in that decision. That’s why a number of players who were brilliant in the just concluded season have seen their market value increase significantly from last summer;
1- Vinicius Junior
As at last summer, Brazil lnternational youngster Vinicius Junior was valued at $44 million. But following a prolific season with Real Madrid where he scored 22 goals and made 16 assists as Los Blancos won La Liga and the Champions league, he is now valued at $110 million.
2- Reece James
On a personal level, James had a fantastic season despite Chelsea’s failure to challenge for the Premier league and retain their Champions league title.
Playing as a right back, the 22 year recorded 6 goals with over 10 assists and that has seen his market value go from $44 million last summer to $60.5 million this summer.
3- Pedri
Prior to his injury in April, the 19 year old starlet was having a fantastic time for Barcelona on the pitch playing a type of football that saw him win the golden boy award. He was valued at $77 million last summer, but now he is worth $88 million.
4- Christopher Nkunku
The 24 year old scored 35 goals and registered over 16 assists in all competitions as RB Leipzig won the DFB- Pokal cup. He is now valued at $71.5 million, a significant rise from $47.3 million last summer.
5- Emile Smith Rowe
The Englishman who currently plays for Arsenal is now worth $44 million in the market. He was valued at $19.8 million the previous summer.
6- Gavi
The Spaniard isn’t even up to 18 years, but his market value has already climbed to $66 million from $27.5 million.
7- Phil Foden
After winning yet another Premier league title with Manchester City, Phil Foden’s market value has risen to $99 million this summer.
