Also remember that what you ate before drinking alcohol may affects the way you feel afterwards. If you don’t want to have hangover,drink responsibly and eat these foods.

1. Eggs.

Eggs are rich in proteins and may help to keep you full for longer time. Before taking alcohol, it is important you take high protein foods like eggs.

2. Banana.

Banana is a very good food to take before drinking alcohol because it contains fiber and other minerals like potassium and magnesium which may help balance electrolyte in the body.

3. Beets.

Beets are famous for containing antioxidants which may help to protect the liver. According to health line, one study shows that giving beetroot juice to rats increased the level of some enzymes that could enhance the ability of the liver to detoxify.

4. Oats.

Oats are good combination of proteins and fiber. They may help to keep a person a person fuller thereby preventing sugar spikes which may cause overeating after drinking.

5. Salmon

Oily fishes such as salmon contain omega 3 fatty acids which have a lot of benefits to the body.

6. Berries.

Berries are rich in antioxidants which may prevent inflammations arising as a result of alcohol consumption. Taking berries such as strawberries or blueberries before drinking alcohol would be of great help.

7. Avocados.

Avocados contain healthy mono unsaturated fats which may help to slow down the absorption of alcohol in the body. Avocados are also rich in important minerals such as potassium which may help to maintain electrolyte balance in the body.

8. Greek yogurt.

Greek yogurt is a great source of proteins in the body. It may delay the absorption of alcohol by the body.

9. Grapefruit.

Grapefruit is an important citrus fruits that contains vitamin C, A and k . It also contains two antioxidants, naringin and naringenin which have shown to prevent liver damage and help optimize liver function in test tube studies.

However,if you are on medications, consult your doctor before taking grapefruits because it may interfere with some medications.
