Brazil started the game on a good note as Vinicius Junior found the back of the net in the 7th minute. Things got even better for Brazil in the 12th minute as Richarlison won a penalty after he was brought down in the box.

Neymar managed to beat South Korea’s goalkeeper from the penalty spot to double the lead for Brazil. Richarlison and Paqueta also scored a goal each before the end of the first half to put the game under control.

Though, South Korea reduced the deficit in the closing stages of the game but it just didn’t make any significant difference.

One of the major talking points of the game was the decision of the referee to award a penalty for the foul on Richarlison in the 12th minute. It remains unclear why the referee pointed to the spot considering the fact that South Korea defender, M. Kim, wasn’t aware of Richarlison’s presence.

The defender tried to hit the ball while Richarlison stuck his foot to it from behind just to draw a penalty. The referee was wrong to award a penalty for the foul because Kim had no idea that Richarlison was behind him.
