Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo confirmed the brothers’ discovery in Gachie, Kiambu County, through her social media platforms. “Jamil and Aslay Longton were found at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi after being abandoned by their captors. Every prayer and intervention worked, and we thank God they are safe,” Odhiambo shared on X.

In a video shared on the same platform, the brothers recounted their traumatic experience, thanking Kenyans for their support. “We were left in the bush in Gachie and had to seek refuge in a home, where we charged our phones and contacted our families,” they narrated.

Simultaneously, activist Bob Njagi was found alive in Tigoni, Kiambu County. His father, Longman Njagi, confirmed the news stating that Bob had been picked up from Tigoni Police Station by his brother. “We have been praying endlessly, and we are beyond grateful to God for his safe return,” Njagi said emotionally.

This revelation came just hours after the newly-appointed Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, insisted that the National Police Service (NPS) was not involved in detaining the three individuals.

In a related development, the then Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli was sentenced to six months in jail by Judge Lawrence Mugambi for failing to appear in court to explain the whereabouts of the missing trio. Masengeli, through his lawyers, had filed an appeal in the Court of Appeal, which was scheduled for a hearing next week.
