Sakaja and his team visited Toi market and Umoja where a fire inferno was watched late in the night, razing down goods worth million and even leaving four people who tried to save the goods dead.

However, Sakaja’s visit turned chaotic after a section of angry residents began to pelt stones towards the place where the county boss was stranding, forcing the security team to act swiftly by taking him away from the scene.

According to a video that is making rounds online, the security officers are seen shielding the first time county boss from stones that were pelted from different directions.

In a statement made on his Facebook account after the incident, Sakaja now claims that the people who threw stones at him were incited by individuals who he did not mention. Sakaja added that the incitement will not stop him from helping his people.

Sakaja also promised to offer support to the traders who lost their good as he promised to rebuild them and get them back to their feet.

“We had a total of 7 fires across the city last night, and all affected will get support. For those who caused incitement, it is well, nothing will stop us from supporting our people.

We will support their families during this trying time. For the traders, we will rebuild and help you get back to your feet. Thanks to the first responders and all who tried to help salvage the situation.” He said

Before Sakaja arrived at the scene, his fierce political nemesis who is also the Embakasi East constituency member of parliament Babu Owino was in the area and gave his speech, castigating the county government for failing to respond quickly to save the traders from losses...CONTINUE READING>>
