Wamalwa took issue with Raila’s statement saying that instead of rescuing Kenyans, from the Ruto administration, he was instead rescuing the regime and bragging about it.

He questioned how the Azimio coalition would continue oversight a government they are assisting

The former Defence CS said such an association would be untenable.

” Instead of rescuing Kenya from the Ruto Regime, We rescue Ruto’s Regime and boast about it? How does Azimio then continue Opposing a government that it is assisting?” Wamalwa posed on X.

“It’s Untenable and tantamount to running with the hare and hunting with the hounds.”

Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday visited traders at Toi market in Nairobi, where a fire razed down their property, killing at least four people.

During the visit, he remarked that President William Ruto reached out for assistance after he realised the team he had in Cabinet to help him run the government failed leading to Gen Z protests.

” They had failed, dissolved the Cabinet and came to us to give the people. They came begging please give us your people who know how to work,” Raila said.

The former Prime Minister assured Toi residents that the people they had given Ruto to work with at the Cabinet level were experts.

He said Kenyans will soon start seeing change.

“W e have given them experts, you will see change.”

During the reconstitution of the Cabinet, Ruto included five people from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

They include former deputy party leaders Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya.

The two were nominated to the Mining and Cooperatives ministries.

National Assembly minority leader Opiyo Wandayi and party chairman John Mbadi, as well as Beatrice Askul who was a member of ODM National Elections Coordinating Committee.

They were nominated to the Energy, National Treasury and East African Community ministries respectively.

Joho, Oparanya, Wandayi and Mbadi have already been vetted and they await confirmation.
