In a video during rounds on social media, a group of men was spotted attempting to bundle a protestor inside the boot of their vehicle before other protestors rushed to the scene.

The victim was seen fighting off the unknown individuals before he managed to break free and the vehicle sped off. Some of the protesters were seen recording the incident as the unknown men hurriedly got into the moving vehicle.

Some Kenyans were keen to note that the vehicle did not have any registration plates raising more questions as to who was conducting these unlawful abductions.

Kenyans questioned why the officers manning the protests did not swoop in to help the victim. In the video seen by
Kenyans.co.ke, some officers were seen at the scene of the incident on foot while others were inside a moving police truck.

“This is unacceptable and infuriating. Doing so to peaceful protestors increases their resolve. The police can not talk of goons infiltrating the demos and then behaving like them,” one X user commented.

Following the incident, Kenyans called upon President William Ruto to honour his promise of ensuring no person was abducted during his regime.

Notably, since the protests began, several young Kenyans have been abducted by unknown individuals and taken to unknown locations. Some of the victims were released while some are still missing.

One of the victims, Joshua Okayo, the president of the Kenya School of Law revealed that he was kidnapped, tortured and later dumped near a river in Murang’a County.

Okayo was taken to his rented flat in Rongai, blindfolded and interrogated before he was later found near the river with severe injuries and psychological trauma.

The law student was among several other victims who have shared their harrowing experiences at the hands of their abductors. Some of the victims revealed that the abductors were armed and were believed to be police officers.

These abductions were condemned by the Law Society of Kenya and human rights groups despite
President Ruto arguing that the incidents were not abductions but arrests.
