At the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UMSC and UPPC at Old Kampala mosque on Friday, Mufti Mubaje revealed that before , their documents have not been having any security feature and have been printed on streets a factor which has facilitated to increased cases of forgery.

“It has come to our concern that not everyone can do the work of a bigger organization like UMSC which supervises close to 15000 mosques in Uganda , 600 counties , 78 Muslim districts headed by district qadhis, Gen Assembly of 464 representatives across country and close to 100 staff at the head quarters.”

Mubajje added that when they were approached by the team from UPPC, they didn’t hesitate to give it a green light , because its one of the trusted government organization.

“According to the work samples (jaribu) we have received from UPPC, there is no doubt that cases of forgery in UMSC documents are going to be history.” Mubaje further added

Mr. Joseph Opio Okurut, who represented the Managing Director of UPPC at this ceremony , promised that through this Memorandum of Understanding, they will ensure that all UMSC’s documents of vital importance are printed under highest quality ,security at the same time widely accessible.

“We are honored to be part of this journey. As UPPC we are confident that the MOU will open doors for new opportunities, which will not only help Muslim community but the whole nation at large.”

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms Rebecca Nyakairu , the Public and Corporate Affairs Manager of UPPC, promised to use their expertise in printing to promote safety of all UMSC documents.

“Through this partnership, we shall be supporting UMSC in publishing their announcements in the Uganda gazette , printing of all documents , production of promotional items , commercial printing, stamps and other materials. We are going to be dealing with all institutions under UMSC like schools, hospitals and other in a transparent manner.”

Nyakairu added that this five year MOU has room for amendments which may include extension of the period beyond those years.

As part of the collaboration, UPPC will also offer commercial, security, and general printing services to UMSC at competitive rates, ensuring timely and quality output. In return, UMSC will promote UPPC’s services to its members, provide advertising space in its publications, and leverage its distribution networks to boost UPPC’s outreach….CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
